STANDING COMMITTEES
Communications Committee, Hernand Gonzalez, Chair: The communications committee concentrates its energy on branding and marketing the Alumni Association in effort to help fulfill the goals and objectives of the organization. Two media representatives, Roly Marante (Miami-Dade) and Carolyn Hardy (Broward) are charged with implementing public relation strategies that promote FBI Miami CAAA programs and initiatives throughout South Florida. The communications committee is also responsible for developing various communication campaigns that keep membership informed of Association and community events and activities.
Education Committee, Helene Milbert, Chair: The education committee serves to enhance the Association’s education outreach initiatives. They are tasked with distributing our exposure equally in Broward, Miami-Dade, and West Palm counties. The committee’s main focus is establishing programs that promote youth development and adult safety awareness.
Finance Committee, Julian Mesa, co-Chair & Howard Carroll, co-Chair: The finance committee is assigned with overseeing the fiscal resources of the Alumni Association. The committee adheres to transparent accounting practices and maintains budgets and recordkeeping. Each committee chair is paired with their own finance liaison to help with creating budgets when developing unique programs/projects. All fundraising events must be reviewed and approved by the Finance Committee before advancing to the Board of Directors for final approval.
Membership Committee, Liza Alvarez, Chair: The membership committee is tasked with developing and implementing FBI-related education programs, Membership social events, and resource initiatives that cater to the needs of the Alumni membership. Some of these offerings include Annual Membership Dinner, FBI vs. Alumni Member Softball Team, CSI Workshop, Annual Bowling Tournament, and Membership Directory.
Resource Development Committee, Jim Angleton, Chair: The resource committee is charged with developing and implementing fundraising initiatives. The committee will establish relationships with vendors, organizations, and community leaders for support of FBI CAAA-SF fundraising activities.
